About

Elite experience.
Applied to coaching.

I'm a Paralympic silver and bronze medallist in javelin and a High Performance Development Coach with Australian Athletics.

Having competed at the highest level, I now work with developing athletes to build the technical, physical and competitive foundations required to progress in the throws.

My approach is simple, specific and built around the athlete in front of me.

Coaching

Developing athletes who want to progress.

Coaching is focused on athletes aged 13+ — from developing juniors through to established high-performance athletes.

Training develops throwing skill alongside athleticism, strength, mobility, robustness and an understanding of how the body transfers force into the implement.

With limited coaching capacity, I am not currently taking on Masters athletes or athletes under 13.

Athlete development

Build the athlete.
Develop the throw.

Technical development sits within the bigger picture. The goal is to develop athletes who can move well, apply force efficiently and perform their technique when it matters.

Coaching philosophy

Create force. Transfer it. Let the implement receive it.

Good throwing is not about forcing the implement. The aim is to build an athlete who can move freely, create force through the ground and transfer it efficiently through the body with rhythm, timing and intent.

Training expectations

Consistency is part of skill acquisition.

Athletes are expected to commit to a minimum of two coached sessions per week. Throwing is a highly technical skill, and consistent exposure is necessary to develop reliable movement patterns rather than repeatedly relearning them.

For multi-event athletes, this can include one coached session in each relevant discipline.

Performance

Throw far.
Lift smart.
Move well.

The objective is long-term development and performance progression — solid foundations first, then increasingly specific preparation as the athlete develops.
